Since the 1800s, Tenuta Patruno Perniola has been enhancing Primitivo di Gioia del Colle, an ancient grape variety classified in the 18th century by the Benedictine monk Filippo Indelicati, who selected its finest plants, which have come down to us.
The vineyards lie at 350 metres above sea level in the “Terre Rosse”, an ideal area for Primitivo thanks to its exposure, ventilation and rocky, mineral-rich soils.
